Razi School & Mosque, Queens, NY

 

This project covers an entire city block directly facing Queens Boulevard in Woodside, NY and originally located on this site was a semi-finished warehouse facility. Our firm was commissioned to convert it into a place of worship as well as a Pre-K to 12th grade educational facility equipped with a state of the art library and computer center as well as a fully equipped modern kitchen that can prepare up to fifteen hundred meals per day during major religious holidays. A full glass pyramidal skylight brightens the main entrance lobby to the facility. On the outside, unusual stucco trim work embellishes the oversized stainless steel fenestration. Traditional mosaic tile work with vibrant jewel-like colors, intricate geometric patterns, and delicate lattice work adorn both the exterior facade above the main entrance as well as the interior of the main lobby.
